Holiday Home Ownership

Owning a holiday home can really be a dream come true but the process doesn’t come without it’s difficult moments and seriously tough decisions.

During the past 5 years of business, we’ve been a safe space for a lot of new (and soon to be new) holiday home owners to come to and ask for help and we’ve always been happy to answer questions and guide new owners into making the right choices.

We understand just how exciting it can feel during the buying process, you’re dreaming of endless summers and imagining having hosting family and friends at your very own seaside retreat whilst having a typically pushy salesperson ensuring you don’t get a moment to breath to ensure you don’t get chance to consider thinking “am I doing the right thing here?…”.

A common misconception is that someone can buy a caravan and easily earn an income from it. But that’s not the case – at all. And quite often people will challenge us and say “well, you’ve made it work for you – haven’t you?!” and the answer is yes, but that’s because we’ve worked extremely hard to make it work for us and we literally live and breath caravans – every single day.

In an ideal world, we’d all have access to a place by the coast or a countryside retreat to escape to whenever you like, but the reality is that these beautiful caravans and lodges are NOT cheap, site fees are expensive, running costs are constantly increasing and finding a decent cleaner who will look after it properly is a near impossible task.

Before you take the plunge, it’s worth weighing up both the benefits and the challenges that come with caravan ownership.

The pros of caravan ownership

  • Your own getaway – a holiday spot ready and waiting whenever you need a break.
  • Family memories – the perfect base for quality time with family and friends.
  • Community feel – many holiday parks have a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
  • Potential income – rent out your caravan to holidaymakers and offset your site fees.

The cons of caravan ownership

  • Running costs – site fees, insurance, utilities, and maintenance soon add up.
  • Ongoing upkeep – caravans need regular cleaning, checks, and repairs.
  • Time commitment – welcoming guests, handling bookings, and dealing with issues can become a job in itself.
  • Seasonal demand – income can fluctuate depending on the time of year.

Renting out to cover costs

One of the biggest advantages of ownership is the ability to rent your caravan out when you’re not using it. Even a handful of bookings can go a long way toward covering your annual fees, and for many owners this makes the difference between a caravan being a luxury and it paying for itself.

If you’d like to enjoy the benefits of ownership without the stress of guest management, cleaning, and maintenance, our Caravan Management Service is designed to take care of everything for you.

We’ve got relationships with the following caravan parks and are able to introduce you to the sales team. It’s worth saying that this isn’t where our help ends, we’re happy to stay by your side right through to the point you pick up your keys!
